CB Color Boosters
Pigment Enhancers for M2 Mixing

Features

  • Single Pigment concentrates for use with the M2 System.
  • Safe and easty method for enhancing M2 colors.
  • Create M2 primaries by mixing CB color in MH0538 base, then make the desired PANTONE colors

OR

  • Mix the desired PANTONE color using new CB formulas privided by Rutland.
  • Mix CB's into one of any number of Rutland Specialty Bases to create custom colors for many different applications.
  • Reduce the number of items on the shelf.

Description

CB's or color Boosters were developed as a means of enhancing the existing M2 Primaries offering a darker, more saturated color. Color Boosters may also be mixed with MS0000 Primer Clear or MH0538 Opaque Base for creating any M2 Primary or recalculate the formula given to create a PANTONE match.

Mix Color Booster into any of the following bases to create custom colors in the series of your choice:

  1. MS0400 Carpet Soft
  2. MH0538 Opaque Base
  3. MS0000 Primer Clear
  4. ML0749 Low Bleed Poly Base

These pigments are not conventional pigment concentrates in plasticizer. Each color booster will fuse which does not up-set the pigment binder ratio of the finished product. The maximum amount equals 40% by weight. This is more than twice the amount recommended or allowed with conventional pigment concentrates. This offers a deeper, more saturated color. Each Color Booster will semi-fuse however, these products are not to be printed as press-ready plastisols.

Application

Mix Color Booster into like M2 color for enhancement (40% by weight maximum). Mix PANTONE colors with new formulas or simply adjust M2 colors as needed (not to exceed 40% total pigment concentrate in base). Thicken with M00010 Thickener #10 to increase opacity if so desired.

Recommended Fabric

For direct printing on dark, medium or light 100% cotton or 50/50 poly/cotton blends when printed on a low bleed white underlay, e.g. ML9250 or ML9540 White.

Fusion Temperature of Final Mixed Color

320 degrees F

Recommended Printing Technique

Load ink into the mesh opening. Only the image area should be filled with ink. Transfer the ink to the fabric surface with a light squeegee pass (70 to 80 durometer). In general, the tighter the fabric weave, the less necessary to "load" the ink into the mesh opening with the flood pass. For example: Less pressure or loading is required to print a nylon jacket shell fabric, (tight weave) than a 100% cotton garment (open weave). Improving the flood stoke technique will offer 1) Faster production speeds, 2) Higher quality of print 3) Increase mesh counts to improve ink mileage.

Special Recommendations

Plastisols are thermoplastic, requiring heat for fusion. Test print area for crock fastness. Should color rub off on white cloth, adjust oven temperatures and/or dwell time until crock test passes (cloth wipes clean).

Stir plastisols prior to printing.

Do not dry clean. Do not use bleach.

Any application not referenced in this technical data should be pretested or consultation sought with Rutland's Applications Laboratory prior to printing.
